Overview

In 1988, the ALL INDIA CRICKET ASSOCIATION FOR THE PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED (AICAPC) was founded in Mumbai by the late Padma Shri Ajit Wadekar, in association with the Fellowship of the Physically Handicapped. AICAPC is registered under Societies Act 1860 as well as Bombay Public Trust Act 1950 and is the apex body in India for promoting the game of cricket among all the categories for the disabled persons. AICAPC has affiliation with 27 State organisations with over 3000 players associated with it. It is our endeavour to reach further states and provide the joy of playing cricket to more individuals.

AICAPC conducts Domestic and International Cricket Tournaments for the Physically Challenged Cricketers at local, regional and national level. We provide Multi level Training Programs to improve their Communication skills, Computer and Technical skills, basic Financial knowledge and Employment opportunities.

AICAPC welcomes donations from Individuals, Companies and the Corporate sector which are exempted from Income Tax under section 80 G. Companies like CS Infocomm, Saraswat Bank, State Bank of India, GIC, HDFC, LIC, New India Assurance, Indian Oil Ltd., and such other sponsors have always extended their support for this noble cause. The wide publicity given by the media all across is also worth appreciating. Without their support, AICAPC would not have reached where it is today. This extensive help and unwavering support has also brought in new hope and direction in the life of the physically challenged cricketers through the game of cricket.

Currently under the able guidance of our current President Mr Karsan Ghavri alongwith an eminent panel of cricketing stalwarts from Mumbai and Indian cricket like Mr Deepak Jadhav, Mr Vinod Deshapande, Mr Prasad Desai and Mr Sulakshan Kulkarni have taken relentless efforts to yield wonderful results with many learning the art of playing cricket, getting lot many opportunities display their skill which in turn has also increased their level of motivation and self - confidence.
